The Consolidated Republic Mining Rail Road is set in north central Washington in 1935. This layout scales to 3/8" to the foot, but operates on HO gauge track, which results in a 20" narrow gauge railroad. The railroad's sole function is to move ore and supplies between the mines and the mills. When you enter the layout room through a simulated mine opening and see his large structures, it's like you're actually walking into the scene. Because of the unique scale and gauge combination, all structures, locomotives, and rolling stock are either scratchbuilt or heavily kitbashed. Control is by Digitrax and all of the unique geared steam locomotives are sound equipped. The layout was included in several convention tours including the 2004 PSX NMRA National Convention and the 2008 and 2012 National Narrow Gauge Convention.
